Ontario Proud makes major impact during 2018 election

Founded in 2016 by Jeff Ballingall, Ontario Proud has since grown to over 366,000 followers on Facebook, giving it a larger online presence than all of Ontario’s political parties and leaders combined.

“Thanks to the generosity of our over 1300 donors, we were able to run a campaign that drove the narrative of the election”, said Ballingall. “We delivered on our goal of defeating Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals and led the way in exposing the NDP’s extreme candidates and agenda.”

Ontario Proud’s reach over the course of the one month campaign is summarized below:

  • 63,644,903 Facebook impressions
  • 2,197,421 Twitter impressions
  • Over 9,400,000 video views on Facebook
  • Over 2,500,000 phone calls made
  • Over 1,000,000 text messages sent
  • 15,000 brochures distributed at transit stations

Ontario Proud was among the first groups to register as a third party under Ontario’s new election finance laws and complied with all related regulations, including restrictions on spending.

“We’re proud of what we achieved this campaign”, said Ballingall. “We’re going to continue fighting for responsible and affordable government and will make sure our politicians are held accountable.”

The team behind Ontario Proud intends to play just as big a role in Canada’s 2019 election.

“Justin Trudeau has failed Canadians,” said Ballingall. “We will do everything in our power to ensure he is a one term prime minister.”
